valentines day

Some friends of ours that moved to San Antonio came up for the wkend to have their sons bday party here. Their Carter is the same age as our Carter and they have really missed each other. So since they were in town all of their friends decided we should all go out to dinner -no kids- and then play games. Well the guests of honor had to take their middle son to the ER because he was sick so we missed hanging out with them but still had a blast with everyone else. We ate dinner in downtown Mckinney at Spoons and then went to the Gustavesons for games and yummy skillet cookies with vanilla ice cream on top! I was having so much fun I didn't take any pictures of us playing games. At one point I was laughing so hard I couldn't see from the tears running down my face. Billy had to do get us to guess he was Michael Jackson and all I can say is...you had to be there. Then some of the other great ones were harry potter and mighty mouse!....the picture below is of the red pepper I spilled all over the table cloth that had Billy and I sneezing and eyes watering during dinner.

can you find the driveway?

Texas has never had this much snow, at least since I've been here for 30 plus years! I think its gorgeous and I absolutely love it.

early release

School let the kids out early. They love the snow and so do I because it keeps them so busy. They played for hours but kept coming in for new dry hats and gloves. I had to rotate them out of the dryer so the kids wouldn't freeze. They drank gallons of hot chocolate and we made a fire... all to stay warm!

bedding for the kids

I've been wanting to re-do the kids rooms for forever. I bought the bedding and paint to go with but haven't done the painting yet. I still need a bed for Cams room since we got rid of the bunk beds. I am trying to find a good deal for a trundle bed for them so it doesn't take up as much space.

school sweetheart dance

After a busy day of three basketball games we rushed over to the school for the sweetheart dance. Carter just insisted he had to be there to dance with his "girlfriend". When we got there they just ran all over the place together but didn't dance. He told me he asked her and she said no. He then said to me "I think she was too embarrassed like me." They had a hoola-hoop contest for the dads and Billy tried his best....but he just can't move his hips that way. He was the first one out :)Cam just hung out in a circle with his buddies and danced with them.
Cody didn't want to come so he had a friend over and they played the Wii for 2hrs.
Carter was busten a move-solo- on the floor and doing cart-wheel dance moves. Savannah loved the music and dancing around with her daddy and me!

Codys last season with his Dad

This was Billys last Season to coach Cody. Next year he will have to try out for the school team. They both have really enjoyed it. Billy got choked up as he spoke to his team after the last game. He has had several of the same boys the last 5 seasons...Cody I hope someday you will look back on this treasured time with your dad as I know he has truly loved every minute with you!

finally new bedding for me!

I have waited 2yrs to find the bedding I like for our bedroom. I love it, the kids do to and I said they have to put a different blanket on the bed over my new one if they want to watch t.v.on it and forget about laying on my pillows!

Cookies...no thanks

Cody had to stay home from school because he had come home with fever the day before and he wanted to make cookies. He did it all by himself and followed the recipie...except he added milk, and an extra teaspoon of salt. (he wanted to make it his own) and then instead of baking soda he used baking powder and they turned out very salty and bitter to me...but he and the other kids liked them!

billys birthday

I made Billy a football cake but it was supposed to be Cowboy colors...but instead of navy blue it turned out royal blue. Savannah made a cake of her own for her daddy too~

too cold for me

We took the kids to the park for some outside time and I stayed inside the car. It was too cold for me. Carter is spiderman.

school spelling bee

Cameron worked very hard to be able to participate in the schools spelling bee. He competed against some fifth graders too. They select 10 kids from 4th and 5th. Our friend Ross was also among the contestants. They did great and deserved to be there. Way to go boys!
